Great, The Great Gatsby!

A li'l ol' review of the Classic American Novel The Great Gatsby

By David F.

Well isn't everything just Jake.

The Great Gatsby is a classic 1925 American novel written by the famous writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. It stars a man named Gatsby, so that's pretty great. It takes place in the 1920s, meaning it was modern at the time, but now it serves as a look back to that time in American history. It does a great job at capturing the period efficiently, making you feel like you're right there in New York in the Roaring Twenties. The characters all feel '20s as well, what with their expressions and mannerisms. But it's not all the bee's knees. The book has a way of moving relatively slowly. It's not necessarily disadvantageous per se, but there are certain moments that make it somewhat difficult to get invested in the story due to their slowness. Though I'm sure it doesn't bother others.

I'd say if one likes classic literature and the 1920s, they should read this book. I myself give it 3 out of 5 stars.
